Nobel Schnapps glass with a little devil on the foot comes from Orrefors and is designed by Gunnar Cyrén. The Swedish expression “Taking a devil” gave inspiration to the schnapps glasses. “What does the devil look like? A devil? Well? It would be best to see one in real life. The result: a black, hairy, crouching figure with a piercing look in its red eyes.” That’s how the designer Gunnar Cyrén describes the design process through which the devil glass in the nobel series took shape.
All schnapps glasses are handmade and hand-painted, making them unique and an extraordinarily conspicuous addition to the Nobel series.
In December each year, in connection with the Nobel celebrations, Orrefors introduces the new colour, which is then launched for sale in the following year. Nobel schnapps glass is thus very good as collectibles. The Year Glasses are only sold for a limited period of time. There are also six standard colours – black, red, blue, gold, silver and white.
